Sophie Prins (Amsterdam/Berlin) is an interdisciplinary artist working across dance, music, and paint/design. With a background in street dance styles Hiphop and Housedance and playing Clarinet, she studied Contemporary Dance at the Amsterdam University of the Arts and Jazz Voice at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

She has performed as a dancer and vocal artist in works by Christoph Winkler (Her Noise, Sheroes, The Voice That You Are) in Berlin and Andreas Denk’s inclusive site-specific theater in the Netherlands to name a few. 

As a dance-maker, choreographer, and musician, she creates vulnerable yet confrontational performances that blur artistic boundaries. Her work focuses on the interplay between voice, music, and movement.

She writes music as a singer-songwriter, creates interactive soundscapes, and collaborates across disciplines — guiding musicians into motion, dancers into voice, and movement into visual form.
As a Jazz singer she performs in small band with a traditional Jazz, Soul and RnB repertoire. 

Drawn to site-specific theater and immersive experiences, she challenges the role of art in daily life. This is reflected in CREATURES— a collaboration with Melodi Yüce, bringing living installations to clubs, festivals, and unexpected spaces.

A few years ago, Sophie healed from cancer. This deepened her mission to live in good relationship to the body and connect with people through art. She aims to shine light on the raw landscape of life, question the system, and invite honesty, play and wonder.
